We lay epoxy floors.
No fluff, no shortcuts.
Rapid Epoxy is a small, owner-operated flooring business out of Melbourne. We've been grinding and coating concrete across Victoria since 2014 — garages, warehouses, showrooms, the lot. Samar runs every job himself or with a small crew he trusts.
Started with one grinder and a lot of concrete dust.
Before starting Rapid Epoxy, Samar spent seven years working on industrial flooring crews — warehouses, food processing plants, car dealerships. He learned the trade from the ground up and got tired of watching jobs get rushed or cut short to save on materials.
When he went out on his own in 2014, the approach was simple: grind properly, prime properly, use the right product for the substrate. Every quote is fixed — no surprises after the fact. Every job Samar is on-site for, start to finish.
We're not the cheapest option and we don't try to be. If you're comparing quotes and ours isn't the lowest, it's probably because someone else skipped the prep. That prep is the difference between a floor that lasts a year and one that lasts a decade.
How a typical job works
Most installs take one to two days. Here's what actually happens when we show up.
Inspect the slab
We test for moisture, check for cracks, soft spots, or previous coatings that need to come off. If there are issues, we tell you upfront before anything starts.
Grind it back properly
We use diamond grinding — not acid etching. The concrete needs an open profile so the epoxy bonds mechanically, not just chemically. This is where most cheap jobs fail.
Lay the basecoat and flake
100% solids epoxy basecoat goes down first. Then vinyl flake is broadcast across the wet coat at full spread rate — wall to wall, no thin patches.
Scrape and seal
Once the base cures, we scrape off the loose flake and apply two coats of polyaspartic topcoat. UV-stable, non-yellowing. Walk on it in 6 hours, park on it in 24.
